In the mean, we should expect to see a continuation of the "I do HTML5 better" browser claims.

I would also expect an increase in the number of web resources that become browser-centric, as some developers seek to gain a perceived advantage in implementing certain elements of HTML5 now.

As each browser has implemented different sub-sets of HTML5, with the result that some implementations work only on a specific browser, such testing is of highly limited value.

I did see a report on one of the SEO blogs that did some testing with a couple of different browsers, but I don't recall whose blog it was right now. I remember they pointed out at least one of the problems that W3C highlighted though. A little more info here: http://www.infoworld.com/d/developer...n-websites-041

From the cited article, the salient point:
Companies now can deploy HTML5 in their applications or in intranets where a rendering engine can be controlled, said Le Hegaret. But it is a different story on the "open Web," where interoperability is an issue, he added.

OK I know people don't like it when you re-hash an old thread, but in this case I thought it might be interesting to see where people stand with HTML5 compared to a year ago.
Personally, we've started developing all our new sites with html5 and despite really liking the idea of HTML5, I still get p*ssed off at the lack of youtube videos I can access from the ipad and wish they'd just supported flash! Is it still going to be another 5 years before Flash is a thing of the past?
